How you pay staff today
Most event and gig staff are 1099 contractors, but a short event doesn't automatically make someone a contractor. What matters is the working relationship, not the length of the gig. A coach you hire for a single 4-9pm showcase is usually 1099. A coach on a set recurring schedule may not be. We'll confirm the right treatment with you, and you make the final call. Ask your accountant if you're unsure.
Your program
How your club and coaching staff run day to day.
i.e., different coaches work different days/times.
i.e., different facilities run different hours.
How your coaches work
A few quick questions about the working relationship. These help us recommend the right setup, contractor payouts or full payroll, the same way a payroll provider's onboarding would.
Tourney Direct helps you run payments and payroll. We don't classify your workforce for you. Any suggestion shown here is informational only and is not tax, legal, or accounting advice. You make the final W-2 vs. 1099 decision and are responsible for it. If you're unsure, please consult your accountant or attorney.
Optional. Just how you handle it now.
Pay
Clubs typically approve a whole pay period at once.
A voucher is prepaid or booked for the coach; a reimbursement pays them back after they spend.
e.g., receipts, mileage logs, or itemized expenses.
Company & payroll setup
Just the basics so we can scope onboarding. Please don't enter sensitive numbers here. EIN, bank details, and coach SSNs are collected later in a secure onboarding step, not on this form.
Yes/No only. Please don't type the number.
Compliance & credentials
You are responsible for setting and enforcing your own credential, background-check, and SafeSport requirements. Anything captured here helps us scope onboarding. It does not mean Tourney Direct verifies, monitors, or guarantees that your staff meet these requirements. Compliance with youth-safety and licensing rules remains solely your responsibility.
